Kathy Shower (born March 8, 1953) is an American model and actress. She was chosen as Playboy's Playmate of the Month in May, 1985 and became the Playmate of the Year for 1986.
She is the oldest playmate to be chosen as PMOY at the age of 33.
Kathy Shower, although famous as Playmate of the year 1986, and perhaps equally famous as the oldest playmate of the year to grace the pages of Playboy in doing so, Kathy is also a reasonably accomplished actress who has proven her mettle in the volume, if not the hard quality of roles she has taken on.
Most of Kathy’s roles were written around the action thriller and erotic drama genre and although once in a while Kathy did manage to steal away from these otherwise stereotyped roles; these were and are the bread and butter by which many, if not all Kathy’s fans fed upon, post Playboy.
This is not to say Kathy didn’t break the mould once in a while. Other roles which may have been closer to home, for example ‘Married People, Single Sex’ in which Kathy plays a distrustful wife who cannot find it within herself to forgive her adulterous husband, yet mourns for the happier times now seemingly lost proved Kathy could hold her own without relying solely upon her looks and sensuality.
Other Kathy movies include Boundaries – a sizzling near softcore erotic thriller, Velvet Dreams, L.A Goddess… the list continues starting seriously from the late 1980’s and continuing up through the 1990’s until the early 2000’s. Other movies that deserve a mention being Out on Bail with Robert Ginty, and American Kickboxer 2 with Dale "Apollo" Cook, both movies which Kathy has been quoted as saying ‘were fun to make and my favourites’.
Kathy made a brief return to the pages of Playboy in 1997 in ‘Playmates Revisited’. So successful was Kathy’s return, She was asked to appear in the Video/DVD version of same in Playmates Revisited – volume 1 in which Kathy was first up.
Kathy officially quit the acting game in 2003 having appeared in countless family orientated TV shows (Knightrider, Simon & Simon, Airwolf etc) in the 1980’s, quite literally dozens of action/adventure movies throughout the late 80’s and 90’s, and not a small splattering of erotic flicks aimed at the pay-per-view generation. The decision to retire had nothing to do with lack of demand on Kathy’s part, and to this day movie scripts continue to pour in, in the hope Kathy will say yes one more time. Kathy does admit ‘if the right role turns up maybe I’ll think about it’.

The site was and continues to be an abundant and qualified resource for all things Kathy Shower, so much so that Kathy herself has recognised the site as the closest thing to her own personal site, should one ever exist.
