Drew Sidora (born Drew Sidora Jordan May 1,1985) is an American actress known for recurring role as Chantel in the Disney Channel Original Series That's So Raven and as Lucy Avila in the summer 2006 movie Step Up.
Personal
Drew Sidora was born in Chicago, Illinois. Since the age of two, Drew studied music and theater. Trained in the Suzuki Method of classical piano for six years, Suzuki Syllabus for several years and trained in theater at the Organic Theater in Chicago.
By the time she was four, she was trained in jazz, ballet and modern dance with Tony Dyer of Dyer Studios. At age seven, she already completed incalculable national voice-overs, television commercials, and prints advertising and was slated as the most sought after "Print Girl" in Chicago.
Acting
She completed numerous industrial films and was the youngest member of the World Renowned "Hook Player's Theater Ensemble" In Hollywood, California, with residence at the Richard Pryor Theater. By age nine she was in the Fox Tv movie 'Divas; acting along side Khalil Kain, Lisa Nicole Carson, and Nicole Ari Parker.
She has also guest starred in Girlfriends, Without A Trace and What I Like About You. She has also had roles in feature films including White Chicks and Never Die Alone.
Singing career
When Drew turned 12, she knew she wanted to pursue singing. With grueling voice lessons and after joining the church choir, by age 13 became the lead singer in the R& B group, "Mo'Tempo." Mo'Tempo soon became a household name in Chicago. Mo'Tempo, was the opening act for superstars in Chicago and was on the verge of signing a major recording deal when a producer spotted Drew and encouraged her to become solo, her counterparts supported her, their passion was not as strong as Drew's and they obliged her decision.
Drew maintained honor roll student status throughout her formal education. She graduated from high school early, and, at the age 17, moved to California, where she enrolled in Santa Monica College to carry a major in Entertainment Law and a Minor in Music History. Before she had finished unpacking her bags, she was signed to Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds's Babyface Entertainment and started writing music with Edmonds Publishing Company, collaborating with some of the company's biggest songwriter/producers.
Drew's vision is to bring purity back into the entertainment industry. As a young role model, her idea of success is beyond how many videos you make and how many magazine covers you grace, but being true to yourself, your potential and being consistent, never wavering from pressure and negative influences. Her music is a mix of urban soul and R & B. Her goal is to perform with a live band, dance and sing live and not lip sync, and understanding that good music has a universal demographic, which includes people like her mother and her mother's friends.
She sang the songs For The Love featuring Mario and "'Til the Dawn" for the accompanying Step Up movie soundtrack. She has also recorded a public service announcement for Deejay Ra's 'Hip-Hop Literacy' campaign that encourages reading DMX's autobiography.
