Dax Shepard (January 2, 1975) is an American actor.

Shepard started as a car buff at Walled Lake Central High School. Later, he attended Groundlings School and Groundlings Sunday Company. He also attended UCLA to receive a degree in anthropology.

Dax's acting career started with his film debut in Hairshirt (1998). After performing in a chain of smaller television and film roles, he joined the Punk'd team. His exposure through Punk'd led to film roles in movies such as Cheaper by the Dozen, Without a Paddle, Zathura, and Idiocracy.

On the October 3, 2006 edition of Jimmy Kimmel Live, Shepard declared that he is a Libertarian and opposed the War in Iraq.

Trivia

* In the 2004 movie Without a Paddle, Tom (Shepard) states that he's "Not an astronaut". Coincidentally, he played an astronaut in 2005 movie Zathura.
