B�rbara Mori Ochoa (born February 2, 1978 in Montevideo, Uruguay) is a Mexican actress and model.

Mori started to work as a model and then became a telenovela actress with TV Azteca but her big break came with the remake of the telenovela Rub� of rival network Televisa in 2004 playing the title character.

Actress-model B�rbara Mori Ochoa was born on the 2nd of February 1978 in Montevideo, Uruguay. She is of Uruguayan-Japanese and Mexican heritage. She has two siblings; actress Kenya Mori and Kintar� Mori. At the age of 3, her parents divorced and she later moved to Mexico.

One day, while working as a waitress at the age of fourteen, fashion designer Marcos Toledo invited her to work as a model. She became independent by the age of 17 and went to live with her cousins[1]. At 19 she met actor Sergio Mayer, who would later become father to their son Sergio. They never married.

She later studied acting in El Centro de Estudios de Formaci�n Actoral. Mori first acted in the Mexican Telenovela Al norte del coraz�n. She then participated in the comedy series Tric Tac and Mirada de mujer the following year. She obtained her first TVyNovelas Award for her role in Mirada de mujer for the Best New Actress.

In 1998, B�rbara Mori got her first leading role as Azul in the series Azul Tequila, co-starring with Mauricio Ochmann. A year later she filmed the series Me muero por t� in Miami, with Peruvian actor Christian Meier. She participated in her first film in 2000, in the Mexican comedy Inspiraci�n. Later, she acted in various other telenovelas including, Amor descarado and the high rated Mexican soap Rub�, which earned her a TVyNovelas Award, the most prestigious television award in Latin America.

In 2005 she obtained the starring role in the blockbuster film La mujer de mi hermano as Zoe, and her husband was portrayed by Christian Meier, who she had previously co-starred with in Me muero por ti. After breaking up with Mayer, Mori dated Manolo Cardona. She is currently dating actor and fashion designer Jos� Mar�a Torre [2] after his breakup with singer Paulina Rubio.
